Education support

Adelaide to Outback has developed a specific program to provide ongoing training and support to GP Supervisors. This includes an induction program for each new Supervisor.

We have developed a multifaceted approach to Supervisor training, to ensure they are able to meet the minimum Supervisor requirements as set by the colleges. We provide this in a range of formats and at varied times. This includes the development of a family-oriented Education Weekend that involves Supervisors and Registrars.

Supervisor training at AOGP includes Supervisor-specific one-day workshops, adaptations of specific Supervisor training programs such as Teacher Development Course, which is provided as a series of four modules over one and a half days, and access to online training (e.g. via RRMEO).

We ensure that through targeted workshops and events, a strong, committed, and genuine network of Supervisors flourishes across our region.

These modules have been developed in response to discussions we have had with our Supervisors in which they expressed a desire for some assistance to teach “challenging” topics in General Practice.
