Overview
Supervisors underpin the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program, providing the bulk of onsite teaching within their practices.
They provide the Registrars with professional role modelling, one-to-one teaching, close supervision, as well as feedback and advice during their practice placement.
To support their role in the training program, Adelaide to Outback has developed a specific program to provide ongoing training and support to Supervisors.
New Supervisors participate in an induction program as an integral part of taking on their role. AOGP employs one rural and one urban Supervisor in the roles of Supervisor Liaison Officer. The SLOs facilitate networking of Supervisors within our region. In recognition of the Supervisors' role in training Registrars, and in enhancing the Supervisor's educational journey with AOGP, we are currently developing a teaching skills program that may contribute towards a post-graduate qualification.
