Overview
GP Supervisors underpin the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program, providing the bulk of onsite teaching within their practices.

They provide the Registrars with professional role modelling, one-to-one teaching, close supervision, as well as feedback and advice during their practice placement.

To support their role in the training program, Adelaide to Outback has developed a specific program to provide ongoing training and support to GP Supervisors.

Each GP Supervisor participates in a one to one induction process as an integral part of becoming a GP Supervisor. The Training Program employs one of the GP Supervisors in the role of Supervisor Liaison Officer, to facilitate networking of GP Supervisors within our region. In recognition of the GP Supervisors' role in training Registrars, we are currently pursuing the option for GPs to be made Clinical Lecturers with the University of Adelaide.
