Sandra Scinto
Sandra joined AOGP in 2003 and completed her training in 2005 after a background of paediatric training. Her time at AOGP included an 18 month stint as the Registrar Liaison officer before moving onto intern education. Her final practice was at Health on Campbelltown, a much loved AOGP practice, which was so enticing she never actually left. In fact Health on Campbelltown has retained the services of 3or 4 registrars from AOGP – a good indication that it is a great place to work! Sandra puts her interest in intern training down to the fact that she was unable to cut her ties with AOGP, she enjoys teaching and she hopes to encourage lots of doctors to become general practitioners so we can all work part-time and have an extremely civilized lifestyle.
Outside of work Sandra has continued to develop other interests. Food and cooking have always been high on the agenda for Sandra, much to the delight of her friends. Visits generally encompass being plied with delicious food expertly prepared as well as drinks and entertainment. Tennis has also been a constant companion through Sandra’s medical career. Her skills have never waned and her weekend matches for Trinity Gardens tennis Club, according to a reliable source, currently result in her winning more often than not. She cannot however vouch for the strength of the competition!
Always keen to travel and previously managing to incorporate trips into her training time, post training has been no different. The motivation to travel has now jumped to impressive heights after meeting the man of her dreams on a prior trip to America. Since then she and Francois have been living between two countries: Australia and Francois’ home country of Holland. Currently they have been apart for 4 months but Sandra is setting off overseas in February. This particular holiday romance had some staying power and Sandra and her fiancée, Francois, married in April 2006 in Holland.
Sandra and Francios welcomed baby Thomas in 2008.
