Alison has previous experience as a Dietition-Nutritionist, involving clinical, teaching, research and management roles. Alison came to AOGP in 2005 after living in Malaysia, where she gained an MBA in International Management, with Distinction, from The University of East London. She has a special interest in international and cross-cultural work within the medical and health-care industries.
Dr Christel Burton
PGPPP Medical Educator
Christel studied medicine at The University of Adelaide. She obtained her fellowship in General Practice in 2006 through AOGP. She currently works in urban general practice and has a special interest in childhood immunisation. She has also worked as an intern supervisor in general practice. Christel has a baby boy and currently works part-time.
Dr Sarah Meertens
PGPPP Medical Educator
Sarah completed her general practice training with AOGP and became a Fellow of the RACGP in 2007. She undertook her training part-time and is the mother of four young boys. Sarah has a special interest in mentoring and medical education and is also a GP Registrar Medical Educator. Sarah works part-time as a GP in private practice in Adelaide. She has a special interest in Aged Care and a large proportion of her practice involves visiting patients in residential aged care facilities.
Dr Helen Mullner
PGPPP Medical Educator
Helen completed her Masters in Tropical Medicine and Public Health in Townsville prior to undertaking postgraduate medical studies here in Adelaide. She completed her general practice training with AOGP, gaining her fellowship with the RACGP in early 2009. She is currently on maternity leave from private clinical practice, having just had her 4th child. However, she continues to pursue her interest in medical education as an Intern Medical Educator with AOGP’s PGPPP team for the 4th year. Helen also has interests in maternal and child health and musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr Brenton Wait
PGPPP Medical Educator
Brenton completed his FRACGP with AOGP and has been a PGPPP Medical Educator since 2006. His medical interests include HIV medicine, HIV treatment in the developing world, and psychological medicine.Currently working at O'Brien Street Practice in the city, Brenton manages a high case load of patients with HIV, Hepatitis C and depression, as well as a having focus on gay men's health and sexual health. In addition, Brenton completes one session per week at University Health Practice at University of Adelaide.
Mr Keith Saggers
PGPPP Education Support Officer
After 19 years as a manager at Westpac, Keith decided to add to his employment experience with 6 years in the pearling industry and a short stint as a tour guide on Christmas Island. Keith has been with AOGP since 2008 and in his spare time, enjoys running, riding and playing squash. Keith has been inspired by AOGP to pursure further study in the tourism industry.
