Alison came to AOGP in 2005 after living in Malaysia, where she gained an MBA in International Management, with Distinction, from The University of East London. She has a special interest in international and cross-cultural work within the medical and health-care industries.
Dr Christel Burton
PGPPP Medical Educator
Christel graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2001. She headed into General Practice as soon as she could because that is what she had wanted to do from the first day of medical school! She works in urban general practice and has a special interest in childhood immunisation. She is an '08 rookie to the Medical Educator role and looks forward to some time on the bench (learning the job) and then some time on the field.
Dr Peter Donohoe
PGPPP Medical Educator
An alumnus of AOGP, Peter’s pre-medical training experience included work as a medical researcher, industrial biotechnologist and university academic. Currently a GP in private practice in Adelaide, he holds an adjunct academic position in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Adelaide. Peter has also continued his special interest in education through his role as PGPPP Medical Educator with AOGP over the past three years.
Dr Sarah Meertens
PGPPP Medical Educator
Sarah completed her general practice training with AOGP and became a Fellow of the RACGP in 2007. She undertook her training part-time and is the mother of three young boys. Sarah is currently working as a GP in private practice in Adelaide. She has a special interest in Aged Care and a large proportion of her practice involves visiting patients in residential aged care facilities.
Dr Helen Mullner
PGPPP Medical Educator
Helen’s undergraduate medical sciences were completed in Townsville, graduating with Honours. She then moved to Adelaide, where she undertook postgraduate medical studies at Flinders University. Helen is currently a Subsequent term Registrar at AOGP, and works at the Bayside Family Medical & Musculoskeletal Practice in Glenelg. Helen extends her skills in medical education by teaching as an Intern Medical Educator with AOGP’s PGPPP.
Dr Brenton Wait
PGPPP Medical Educator
Brenton completed his FRACGP with AOGP and has been a PGPPP Medical Educator since 2006. His medical interests include HIV medicine, HIV treatment in the developing world, and psychological medicine. Currently working at O’Brien Street Clinic in the city, Brenton manages a large case-load of HIV, Hep C, depression and gay men’s health cases. In addition, Brenton completes one session per week at Parklands Medical Practice at University of Adelaide.
