Introduction

Welcome to the online communication and language skills module. This module will help you to improve your communication and language skills in a clinical and professional context.

Each section of this module provides material that supplements the Adelaide to Outback (AOGP) face-to-face communication workshops, but each can also be used as stand-alone resources if necessary. The modules include brief explanatory text associated with audio and video examples, and practical exercises. The exercises, suggested readings and resource links are useful tools that you can use in your own self-directed learning.

How to use this module
There are three ways of using this site:
  1. Engage in focused learning
    a) AOGP Learning Needs Analysis Feedback
: The content of the site is based on common language learning needs identified through the AOGP learning needs analysis (LNA). If you have completed the AOGP LNA, the most efficient way of using this module is to check your LNA feedback report and navigate your way through the site according to your identified needs.

    b) FAQs : You can work through the Frequently Asked Questions page.

  2. Follow your interest
You can jump into any part of this site that interests you, using the menu on the left-hand side.

  3. Progress in a linear fashion
You can start at the beginning and work through each section.

A time estimate is noted at the beginning of each topic, indicating how long it could take you to complete that portion of the module.

Get the most out of your learning!
Try to make sure that you spend at least ten minutes each day paying attention to, and working on, your language skills. This will help you to get the most out of your learning.
