The Program
Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program (AOGP) has been providing support to rural-based International Medical Graduates (IMGs) within the AOGP training region preparing for the RACGP examination via the alternative pathway since 2003. This was enabled through vision and funding from Rural Doctors Workforce Agency (RDWA). The model for this support is based around a regionally distributed team of IMG Medical Educators to provide localised support, and an Education Support Team to coordinate the process. The acquisition of recent additional funding has allowed for important enhancement of the existing support program. We believe this is essential for the sustainability of our program.

Testimonials

"I feel the course provided by the Adelaide to Outback is a perfect bridge for the international medical graduates. I know it has helped me immensely in my exam preparations."
Dr Jagdish Trivedy
GP in Elliston, SA

"The materials (booklets and videos) as well as the small group studies proved to be immensely useful in preparing for the RACGP fellowship examinations. Many will find the RACGP exam different from what they may be accustomed to. Therefore, I recommend the program to other international colleagues wishing to sit the exams in the future. Trust me, you will have the comfort of knowing that you are not alone."
Dr Sam Olaiya
GP in Port Lincoln, SA
