The board comprises:

Dr Gerard Quigley

Prof Nigel Stocks

Chief Executive Officer of Adelaide to Outback (non-voting).

Ms Linda Black

The AOGP Board is currently recruiting two new members to fill the positions vacated in March 2009, by Dr Bernd Lorezen and Dr Steve Holmes.

The governing board appoints task groups and/or subcommittees, which are comprised of Board directors and/or other community stakeholders whom the Board deems suitable to further the interests of the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program.

A full list of time limited task-groups and subcommittees that have contributed to the program to date can be found in the most recent AOGP Annual Report. A list can also be obtained from the Executive Assistant, who can be reached on 8366 3100. Ongoing committees are listed below.

Community Stakeholder Reference Group (standing subcommittee)
The Board has created this standing subcommittee which meets once per year (minimum). The Group reports its deliberations and findings directly back to the Board through the subcommittee Chair. The Group is a representative-based committee that has been drawn from key regional stakeholders located within our region.
Registrar Input
Registrars are involved at the highest policy level of the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program via membership on the governing board. This means the Registrar viewpoint is influencing the governance and direction of Adelaide to Outback. Registrars are also members of all task and education working groups/subcommittees as well as the appeals and grievance committee.
Appeals and Grievance Subcommittee
An independent subcommittee structure has been established to enable the effective processing of local appeals and grievances. This subcommittee is convened as required.

The Appeals and Grievance Subcommittee includes, but is not limited to:

The Chief Executive Officer of AOGP provides secretarial support for the conduct of this committee.

Research Committee
Since its inception, Adelaide to Outback has had a strong committment to research and tries to ensure that the education it provides, and its strategic goals, are underpinned by evidence. Adelaide to Outback also receives an increasing number of requests—internally and externally—for involvement in research projects, many of which request access to AOGP Registrars and Supervisors. The Research Committee was formed in order to address these issues, and to provide mentoring to staff, Registrars, and Supervisors who are involved in the research side of Adelaide to Outback’s business.

For more information about the Research Committee, please contact the Research & Development Manager on 8366 3100.
